U.S. Army Migrates off the Mainframe with Micro Focus and IAI; Move to Windows Server significantly reduces infrastructure costs for critical logistics simulation application

Micro Focus(R) (LSE:MCRO), a leading provider of legacy application development and deployment software for enterprise platforms, and Information Analysis Incorporated (Penny Stocks : OTCBB:IAIC), today announced that the U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) National Simulation Center used Micro Focus Studio and Server to migrate and deploy its COBOL-based 'LOGFED' training and simulation application from the mainframe to a Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Server environment In addition, PEO STRI utilized Micro Focus' legacy extension software within Server to provide a modernized Web interface. The migration and extension of these legacy assets enables U.S. Army personnel around the world to access the simulation anywhere at any time.

PEO STRI evaluated several options to increase LOGFED's deployment agility, including replacing the mainframe with a deployable 'zFrame' machine running Linux with an OS390 overlay. Ultimately, PEO STRI chose to work with IAI and Mic"
